About the Client

Rio Tinto operates the world’s largest integrated portfolio of iron ore assets. About the Role

WorkPac are seeking a Project Planner on behalf of Rio Tinto, reporting to the superintendent of Project Controls the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting project scheduling, planning, and reporting. Working closely with senior staff, you will help maintain and monitor integrated project schedules, ensuring efficient project execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in creating, maintaining, and reporting on project schedules
  • Participate in schedule review meetings and provide updates
  • Support development of monthly schedule reports and analysis
  • Help maintain project integrity by monitoring changes and progress
  • Collaborate with cost engineering and estimating teams to assess impacts
  • Ensure compliance with standardized project control processes and tool
  • Maintain relationships with contractors and key project stakeholders
  • Provide technical support to project teams

Skills and Experience Required

  • 5-7 years of experience in project planning or project controls
  • Strong understanding of project scheduling, cost estimation, and reporting
  • Experience working with integrated project schedules and tracking progress
  • Ability to analyze schedule changes and communicate implications effectively
  • Proficiency in project planning tools and software
  • Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills
