Capital Accountant – Mining Industry

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Capital Accountant to join a leading international mining company. Based in Perth, this role plays a critical part in managing financial reporting and controls related to capital projects, business growth initiatives, and project development activities.

About the Role Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Capital Accountant will collaborate with key stakeholders across finance, technical services, exploration, and project development. This position will be responsible for capital reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and ensuring financial compliance within a fast-paced mining environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and monitor project budgets, ensuring accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare monthly cost reports and analyze variances.
• Assist in financial forecasting, budgeting, and capital expenditure tracking.
• Collaborate with project managers and finance teams to support decision-making.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial reporting and controls.

About You:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a management accounting or finance business partnering role.
• Ideally from a big 6 background.
• Strong proficiency in financial reporting, cost accounting, and data analysis.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting/reporting tools.
• Tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance (CA/CPA preferred).
• Experience in the mining or resources sector is highly desirable.
