Role Description:

The Senior Project Accountant, reporting to the CFO, is responsible for financial planning, tracking, and reporting for all Capital Expenditure (Capex) projects at Redland. This position provides strategic support to Project Managers, Asset Finance, FP&A, and Treasury while ensuring effective financial oversight of financial practices across farmland development, facilities, infrastructure, electrical systems, and software initiatives. This role is involves hands-on financial management and works closely with accounting and shared services teams to ensure all financial components align with Redland’s strategic goals.

Primary Responsibilities:

Financial Management

Support financial planning, strategy, and reporting to ensure strong financial oversight of Capex project financials.

Work closely with Project Managers to provide hands-on financial insights and ensure alignment with financial goals.

Assist FP&A in budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring precise financial planning.

Collaborate with the Asset Finance team to support and enhance asset accounting practices.

Partner with shared services (AP/AR) team to streamline financial operations.

Review business forecasts, focusing on project expenditure trends and patterns affecting cash flow.

Support treasury operations to ensure capital financing requirements are met efficiently.

Project Execution & Oversight

Implement financial processes and controls for capital expenditure projects, ensuring aligned implementation and reporting.

Develop and implement project accounting systems and processes for accurate financial data analysis.

Partner with Project Managers to enhance financial performances through detailed analysis and reconciliation.

Monitor project financial performance against budgets, conduct variance analysis, and provide insightful commentary.

Experience & Qualifications:

Qualified CPA or CA.

5-10 years of experience in finance, budgeting, and forecasting in a project-centric environment.

Demonstrated knowledge and experience in finance, budgeting, and forecasting in a project- centric environment.

High quality leadership and team management skills.

Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.

Extensive experience utilizing Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel and or other Project Management Software is ideal.

Skills:

Understanding of accounting standards and ability to apply them to complex situations whilst also being able to explain them in a simplified manner.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to develop strong working relationships.

Eye for detail, advanced problem solving and analytical skills.

Forward planner with ability to meet agreed timelines.

Experience with Xero or similar accounting systems is highly desirable.
