We are on the lookout for a highly motivated, energetic, and intelligent management accountant to join our internal associated fast-growing trading entity – DDT Holdings Pty Ltd. The entity is an active fast-growing international commodity trader mainly focusing on Indian Subcontinents and Southeast Asia.
About the role:
This role is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic accountant who will be working on a full-time basis with Agri division at our Ultimo office. You will get to join our qualified, well-experienced, and culture diversified team. This is a versatile role that requires regular communication with all the internal departments, higher management, stakeholders, and valuable clients.
As the organization continues to grow, it has established a dedicated Agri Division. To manage Agri-related accounting, forecasting, budgeting, and trade-specific P&L report generation and control, we are seeking an management accountant with at least two years of experience in Agri-related accounting. The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate accounting for the Agri Division, generating reports, and coordinating with the Senior Accountant and Chief Finance Officer (CFO). Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports of the said division.
- Conducting cost-benefit analysis by preparing freight rate charts of all shipping companies related to the Agri- division.
- Assisting Senior Accountant and management team in forecasting the projected plans based on the past budget reviews and accounting policies and providing solutions to improve the performance of the organization.
- Assisting in managing the company's cash flow and trade finance facilities to ensure sufficient level finance is available.
- Assisting in the preparation of tax reports and conducting financial reviews and audits as well as advising on business acquisitions, capital funding and liquidation.
- Maintaining the integrity of the business accounting systems and compliance with the regulatory requirements by providing accuracy of information in financial reports.
- Monitoring the division as well as business expenditures by reviewing the budgets periodically for both capital and operating expenses.
- Preparing Profit and Loss account and Balance Sheet to calculate gross income, gross profit, and operational expenses of the Agri-division and analysis with the business performance.
- Updating Account Chart to assess cash flow and financial exposure of new business ventures or projects.
- Making analysis on the variances in the income and expenses of the business on a month-to-month basis.
- Assisting in working with the management to maintain internal control systems, structures, identify problems, gather information, and implement solutions.
Education Requirements for the role.
The role requires a minimum of Bachelor of Accounting degree or equivalent in related subject. A good understanding of Australian Taxation and Corporate Law is preferred for this role.
Skills and Experience requirement for the role.
The skills and experience that are most needed for this role include:
- Minimum one year local experience.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and standards & the Australian taxation system.
- Intermediate computer software skills, including Excel. Salary is negotiable for Power BI experienced.
- Knowledge of accounting software – Xero (including multi-currency transactions)
- Trouble-shooter and a good negotiator
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to demonstrate initiative.
- Excellent attention in detail.
- Well organized and structured in carrying out the duties.
- High level of interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of international trade focusing on commodity – Agri and working knowledge of Wastepaper & Scrap metal.
- Knowledge about terms and requirement of the shipping industry
- Knowledge about the local logistics support
Remuneration:
Gross Salary $75,000 - $85,000 per annum plus Superannuation (Negotiable based on experience).
Working Hours:
Full time 38 hours per week.
Depending upon the work requirement, candidates may need to work on some weekends as well to meet the working days of an international client including Indian sub-continent.
