About the role

You will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of strategic digital grid initiatives to enhance outage management, optimise network operations, and enable efficient two-way energy flows. This position will focus on developing the technologies and capabilities necessary to be resilient and responsive to the evolving needs of network operations during the energy transition.

Key Accountabilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of digital grid initiatives and projects that improve outage management, optimise network operations, and enable efficient two-way energy flows.
  • Transform and streamline business processes to achieve operational excellence.
  • Continuously monitor industry trends and business performance to identify opportunities for innovation. Develop business cases for these opportunities using a data-driven approach and factual evidence to substantiate the potential benefits and value.
  • Engage, influence, and collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders to effectively drive cultural change and ensure the successful adoption of new technology solutions.
  • Integrate global best practices in solution design, business processes, project execution, and operations while making commercially sound business decisions.
  • Identify specific data and network model requirements for implementing digital grid solutions and establish relevant data and model management standards and processes.
  • Develop a structured approach to identify and mitigate potential challenges and risks associated with proposed solutions, ensuring that strategies are implemented to enhance operational efficiencies, environmental, health and safety outcomes.
  • Establish and enforce quality assurance processes to ensure that solutions meet or exceed stability, reliability, performance, and security requirements.
  • Lead, inspire, motivate, and develop team members to foster an inclusive culture and build a high-performing team.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies, industry standards, regulations, cybersecurity requirements and best practices to ensure compliance with all applicable requirements.
Qualifications, Certifications and Licences
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Workcover Induction for Construction Work - General Course
  • C Vehicle licence up to 4.5 tonnes gross vehicle mass (GVM)
Skills and Experience
  • Significant experience in a similar professional role in Energy/Electrical or Utilities Industries
  • Proven business or technical work experience in one or more of the following digital grid focus areas: DMS, EMS, DERMS.
  • Experience in transforming data into strategic business projects and insights.
  • Significant experience and ability to influence and engage stakeholders to provide innovative strategies and solutions.
  • Strong leadership capability to lead small teams to drive continuous improvement.
  • Strong commercial focus, analytical and problem-solving ability and highly collaborative.
