About the Role
This position is a leadership role within the Festival and Events team as part of the Creative Culture & Economic Development Department.
• Develop event and festival programs that attract growing audiences, meet community expectations, and prioritise diverse and inclusive engagement.
• Lead Ganbu Gulin, an event that celebrates Aboriginal & Torres Strait culture.
• Lead and supervise the Associate Producer.
• Support operational elements of Council delivered, and community led events including risk and safety, permits, production and compliance.
• Support to deliver FUSE festival, International Woman’s Day, Darebin Community Awards and other Council-run events.

Skills & Experience
• A tertiary qualification in Arts / Business / Event Management or equivalent.
• Extensive experience in planning and delivering programming and operational elements of major festivals and events
• Experience in working with Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander and First Nations cultural communities within an events context
• Proven track record of delivering successful events on time, with positive outcomes and increased participation in a local government setting.
• Demonstrated understanding and commitment to community cultural development and effective communication across diverse cultures.
• Proven ability to deliver events while ensuring full compliance with OH&S standards and regulations.
