About the role
The Service Coordinator is responsible for growing the Service and ensuring program sustainability over the short, medium and long term and requires the person to present a positive and professional image of BigDog when interacting with participants, family members, advocates, service providers, funding bodies and the general community.
As this role has a strong leadership focus, a personal commitment and passion for excellence is essential.
Key duties
- Undertake new client sign ups, risk assessments, support calculators in line with the participant onboarding procedure.
- Engage with support coordinators, participants, and family members to facilitate quality supports.
- Engage in regular feedback and check-ins with participants.
- Assist with rostering where required and ensure that participant needs can be met prior to commencement of services.
- Sets base rosters and updates notes for shifts.
- Assist with all administration duties

Essential requirements
- A strong level of effective oral and written communications skills
- Competency in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite

- Communicate effectively with immediate work team/work area/individual; convey straightforward information to a range of people and act on feedback constructively
- Group facilitation and presentation skills
- Work with and adapt to a diverse range of people with different life styles and work styles
- Show a supportive and cooperative approach to interaction with others
- Focus on the needs of participants and provide quality service
Additional requirements
- Apply feedback to improve performance
- Exercise sound judgment
- Make choices between a range of options within established procedures/standards and guidelines
- Certificate IV in Community Services or similar is desirable or must be willing to obtain.
- Must be willing to take on-call phone on a rotating roster.
