Who we are
Accent Home Care is a division of Tabulam and Templer Homes for the Aged (TTHA) who have been supporting older people for over 50 years. Accent Home Care has a range of services that extend to Home Care Packages (HCP), Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) and private services. TTHA is a Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) provider with its origins in the Melbourne German Community located in Bayswater.
What the role is
We are currently recruiting for a service coordinator to work as part of our Service Delivery Team. The role requires exceptional communication, organisational skills with experience working in the aged care sector. The role is critical in supporting the workforce of direct care workers by rostering services and ensuring the skills of staff are matched to consumer’s needs. The service coordinator monitors the availability of staff and coordinates shift replacements for unscheduled leave as well as scheduling new services for consumers. The service coordinator responds to inbound calls and collates data for reports. As part of the Service Delivery Team, the successful candidate will provide administration assistance.
About You
You will be an enthusiastic and professional individual with a good eye for detail and have exceptional customer service focus. You will need to be a team player with excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability and initiative to work on your own. You will have demonstrated ability to interact with a diverse range of cultures, backgrounds & personalities; if you speak a European language such as German or Polish, this will be an advantage.
Demonstrated experience in
- Working in an aged care environment or similar community services
- Using computerised rostering systems, preferable Alayacare Health knowledge
- Ability to match staff to the needs of consumers
- Managing consumer and staff expectations in scheduling services
- Accuracy in data entry and ability to identify and correct errors
- Being solution focused, flexible and have the capacity to find alternatives
- Using Word and Excel proficiently
- Effective written and verbal communication
- Remaining calm and reassuring during busy periods

The position is full time Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.06pm.
