JOB PURPOSE

The role will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless execution of loan administration and portfolio management for Remara's direct lending platform across Remara Credit and Marble Money. By managing the end-to-end lending operations, the role ensures that all transactions are processed efficiently, in compliance with regulatory requirements, and aligned with internal credit policies. The position will work closely with borrowers, brokers, legal teams, and internal stakeholders to maintain a high-quality loan book while optimising operational workflows to enhance efficiency and risk management.

A key component of this role involves overseeing construction loans, particularly the management of progress claims and drawdowns ensuring that funds are released in accordance with project milestones, working in collaboration with quantity surveyors and valuers to validate claims and mitigate construction risks. By maintaining rigorous oversight of loan disbursements, monitoring project timelines, and ensuring adherence to loan conditions, this role helps safeguard the lender’s interests while supporting developers in successfully delivering their projects. This position is instrumental in maintaining operational excellence, ensuring a strong compliance framework, and driving the continued growth of the real estate lending business.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Loan Settlements

  • Manage loan documentation, security registrations, and compliance with relevant legal and regulatory frameworks
  • Collaborate with credit, legal, and risk teams to ensure accurate execution of loan agreements and security structures
  • Work with treasury to ensure all loans are funded and accurate settlement and maturity schedule is maintained
  • Ensure seamless loan settlements in coordination with solicitors, borrowers, and internal teams

Construction Loan Management

  • Oversee the administration of construction loans, ensuring timely and accurate drawdown management
  • Process progress claims from borrowers, verifying documentation, builder invoices, and project milestones
  • Liaise with quantity surveyors and valuers to validate project progress and ensure compliance with loan conditions
  • Coordinate with developers, contractors, and legal teams to facilitate seamless fund disbursements
  • Monitor construction project timelines and budgets, identifying risks and reporting deviations to the credit team
  • Ensure proper retention management and final drawdown reconciliations upon project completion

Portfolio Management

  • Maintain accurate records of all loan transactions, security positions, and borrower communications
  • Identify potential loan performance issues and escalate concerns to the risk and credit teams
  • Ensure loan covenants and conditions precedent are met before disbursing funds
  • Support external audits, investor reporting, and compliance reviews related to the loan book

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work closely with borrowers, brokers, lawyers, and external consultants to ensure smooth loan administration
  • Provide ongoing support to developers and property investors throughout the loan term
  • Collaborate with the finance team to reconcile loan accounts and ensure accurate financial reporting

System Management & Process Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to enhance accounting processes and reporting efficiency through automation or system upgrades
  • Work with IT and operations teams to implement new technology solutions for portfolio tracking, data management, and financial analysis
  • Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) to support scalability and knowledge transfer across the team

Cross Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with various internal stakeholders, including portfolio managers, legal, tax, compliance, and operations teams, to provide financial insights and support decision-making
  • Participate in strategic initiatives such as new product launches, restructurings, and new loan product development
  • Contribute to ad hoc financial projects and analyses as requested by senior management, including scenario modelling and budget planning

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • 5+ years in lending operations, loan administration, or credit management, preferably within real estate finance or private lending
  • Strong understanding of construction finance, progress claims, loan documentation, and settlement processes.
  • Ability to assess construction progress claims and identify potential risks
  • Regulatory experience with Australian financial regulations, AML/CTF obligations, and responsible lending guidelines
