About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Portfolio Planning Manager to join our Nuclear and Capability (N&C) Business Unit, as we grow ASC capabilities to support both Collins Class and Nuclear Powered Submarine Programs.
As a Portfolio Planning Manager, you will be accountable for the coordination of Portfolio Management activities required to move Nuclear and Capability (N&C) goals and high level strategic direction into actionable projects. Working closely with the N&C Leadership Team, you will lead the development and ongoing management of a portfolio of programs and projects, providing ongoing monitoring, evaluation, and reporting.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate development of high-level program and portfolio plans for the N&C department.
- Develop and execute a twelve (12) month tactical plan for N&C, ensuring alignment with overall business strategy.
- Ensure alignment and coordination across N&C Departments and facilitate collaboration.
- Identify potential risks to N&C strategy and short-term plans and develop mitigation strategies.
- Establish and mature the integrated planning capability and framework for the N&C Project Management Office (PMO).
- Develop and maintain a Portfolio Management Framework.
- Develop a benefit realisation framework to justify investment in projects and ensure benefits can be realised.
- Communicate program goals and coordinate outcomes across N&C.
About You
- Tertiary qualifications in Project Management, Engineering, or Business Administration.
- Demonstrated experience in portfolio planning in complex programs, ideally in the defence or heavy industry environment.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a leadership role in engineering, project management, or capability role (experience in the defence sector is a plus).
- Demonstrated skills in portfolio, program, and project management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Autonomous, goal-directed, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
Eligibility
