We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with clients and team members to deliver exceptional accounting services, contributing to the financial success of our diverse clientele.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Manage all accounting transactions, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial data.
- Prepare budget forecasts and monitor financial performance against projections.
- Publish financial statements in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual closings, ensuring all financial activities are finalised within established timelines.
- Reconcile accounts payable and receivable to maintain accurate financial records.
- Ensure timely bank payments and manage cash flow effectively.
- Compute taxes and prepare tax returns, ensuring compliance with Australian tax laws.
- Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements, providing insights into the company's financial health.
- Report on the company’s financial health and liquidity, offering recommendations for improvement.
- Audit financial transactions and documents to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary.
- Comply with financial policies and regulations, staying updated on industry changes.
Requirements:
- A proactive attitude, self-motivation, and enthusiasm.
- Strong organisational and communication skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to meet deadlines with proven attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Relevant qualifications in Accounting and Taxation.
- Minimum of 12 months' experience in public accounting.
- Experience with Xero, MYOB, and QuickBooks accounting software.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and Word.
