The Role

As the Accountant (General), you will be responsible for the management and reporting of the financial data of the company. Your duties include preparing financial statements, examining, and analyzing a company’s accounts, and ensuring compliance with financial reporting and other standard accounting procedures. You will need to work with cross-functional teams across the company to ensure proper support for the business unit.

Key Responsibilities

• Management of Accounting functions including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Balance Sheet Reconciliations, and Fixed Asset Management
• Month End and Periodic Reporting including accruals/provisions, Financial Statement preparation, and analysis.
• Maintain General Ledger in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards
• Assist in preparing the annual operating and capital budgets.
• Prepare monthly bank account reconciliations.
• Assist in cash flow reporting and forecasting.
• Assist in examining operating costs and organizations' income and expenditure.
• Assist in managing inventory & COGS accounting including reconciliation of inventory accounts.

Skills and Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Commerce, or equivalent.
• Solid understanding of accounting and financial principles with demonstrated ability to apply them effectively.

Experience:

• Minimum of two (2) years of accounting experience.
• Preference for experience in an eCommerce environment.
• Proficiency in Excel, with the ability to create complex reports and analyze large datasets.
• Experience in a fast-paced, high-tech startup or complex company setting is advantageous.
• Up-to-date knowledge of relevant tax legislation.
