About the role and team

Reporting to the Mount Gambier Prison Deputy General Manager (Peter), you will be responsible for the effective management of prison industries, ensuring compliance with Work Health and Safety standards and exceeding contractual obligations. You will lead and mentor a team of 10-12 Industries Supervisors, foster strong customer relationships with businesses in Melbourne and Adelaide, and identify new business opportunities to expand the industries program. As a key member of the Senior Management Team, you will contribute to the overall operational strategy of the prison. This includes attending meetings, contributing to decision-making, and working collaboratively with other departments.

What we're looking for

Experience in managing staff, preferably in production or trades, with a strong understanding of operational processes.

Strong customer relationship management skills and a business development mindset with the ability to identify and secure new business opportunities.

A commitment to Work Health and Safety, with knowledge of relevant regulations and procedures, particularly in relation to machinery and industrial equipment.
