Role Description:
The Finance Officer is responsible for providing financial and administrative support and includes the responsibility for the accounts payable processes, including entering and monitoring payments and expenditures in an accurate, effective and timely manner.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Responsible for Accounts Payable function, including but not limited to the below:
- Receive and review invoices for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies
- Cost code and input invoices into the accounting system for approval and payment, after ABN and GST checks for suppliers
- Maintain a well-organised system for processing and filing invoices and related documents
- Reconcile vendor statements to ensure all payments are up to date and discrepancies are resolved
- Process employee expense reports and ensure compliance with company expense policies
- Prepare and process electronic payments in a timely manner with all controls and due diligence in place
- Communicate with internal and external vendors to resolve billing issues, disputes, and discrepancies
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, including account reconciliation and reporting
- Performing other relevant ad hoc tasks as required
- All of the above to be completed within agreed SLAs and financial objectives
2. Responsible for Accounts Receivable function, including but not limited to the below:
- Ensuring all funds received into the bank from customers are identified and transactions are recorded in the system against debtor accounts a timely manner
- Invoicing customers with strict payment terms on a regular basis
- Posting journals in the General Ledger for funds received
- Liaising with internal stakeholders where discrepancies of funds received are identified
- All of the above to be completed within agreed SLAs and great attention to detail
3. Responsible for reconciling bank transactions as a part of the Bank reconciliation process.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Finance Officer or similar role
- Demonstrated understanding of accounting practices and principles
- Sound administrative skills along with demonstrated skills in Microsoft Office Suite Products particularly Excel and Word
- Knowledge of Xero and ApprovalMax highly regarded

- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Ability to work in an ‘open’ team office environment and possess excellent interpersonal skills including written and verbal communications skills
- Able to work to strict guidelines and deadlines in a timely manner
- Willingness and ability to adapt to changing situations, environments, and demands.
- Analytical and logical reasoning to assess situations, solve problems, and make informed decisions.
- Ability to make timely and sound decisions, considering relevant factors and potential outcomes.
