Role Description: Senior Accounts Officer / Finance Officer

Position Overview:

The Senior Accounts Officer is responsible for overseeing financial transactions, ensuring the timely collection of receivables, managing payables, monitoring job profitability, and preparing financial forecasts. This role also involves compliance-related tasks such as BAS preparation and financial reporting to support decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

• Aged Receivables Management: Monitor outstanding debts, follow up on overdue invoices, and implement credit control measures.
• Accounts Payable: Process supplier invoices, ensure timely payments, and manage cash flow requirements.
• Job Profitability Reporting: Track and analyze project/job costs, revenue, and profit margins to provide insights into financial performance.
• Financial Forecasting: Assist in budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and variance analysis to support business planning.
• BAS Preparation: Ensure accurate completion and lodgment of Business Activity Statements (BAS) in compliance with ATO regulations.
• Reconciliations: Perform bank, accounts, and general ledger reconciliations to maintain financial accuracy.
• Financial Compliance & Reporting: Assist with financial reports, tax obligations, and audits as required.

Key Skills & Attributes:

• Strong knowledge of accounts receivable, accounts payable, and financial reporting.
• Experience in BAS preparation and compliance with Australian tax laws.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., MYOB, Xero, QuickBooks).
• Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial data.
