About Specsavers

Today, the Specsavers Partnership enjoys global success. With more than 1,700 stores and in 10 countries, we are the world’s largest optical retailer. Each business operates as a Joint Venture Partnership, meaning the stores are part-owned and managed by its directors. They are supported by centralised teams of specialists within our Support Offices in areas such as Marketing, Accounting, IT and Supply Chain. In 2007, we launched in the Australian market as a wholesale business. In 2008, we became a retailer, opening 100 stores in 100 days across Australia. In the same year we went on to open our first stores in New Zealand. The Australian and New Zealand business has continued to grow with over 350 stores now operating across the ANZ network. We have also got the largest optical manufacturing facility in the Southern Hemisphere, which opened in Port Melbourne in 2009.
