About TEAMhealth
The name of the incorporated Association is the Top End Association for Mental Health Incorporated, also known as TEAMhealth. We are a not for profit organisation that has delivered wide ranging support for people dealing with mental health concerns or mental illness for almost 30 years. We provide quality mental health services, focused on support, recovery and rehabilitation across Darwin, Palmerston and the regional and remote communities of the Northern Territory’s Top End. Our purpose is to create community capacity for good mental health so that all people may lead a full and valued life. Our organisation, was established in 1987 by a group of concerned relatives and service providers of people with mental illness who wished to provide a stable, safe accommodation option for their family members. Service commenced with the establishment of a long term, residential program known as “The Manse” at Parap. This service is still there today and is staffed 24 hours per day, 7 days a week, providing support to people with complex needs who are not able to live independently. TEAMhealth services grew with the acquisition of funds to provide outreach, training and family support programs to people in the Darwin area. Further housing options were also developed through our Community Housing Service and long term supported accommodation programs. Source: This is an extract from the company's own website.
