Diabetes SA is a trusted not-for-profit organisation and the NDSS Agent for South Australia. For more than 70 years, we have supported South Australians living with and at risk of diabetes through education, advocacy, support services and community engagement.

About the Role
As our Liaison Officer – Member Services, you will help grow and sustain Diabetes SA membership through inbound, outbound, face-to-face and event-based engagement.
You will work with provided leads and event-generated opportunities to sell, reactivate and retain memberships using a relationship-based approach focused on understanding individual needs and recommending the right membership, service or support.
You will also identify opportunities to connect members with relevant Diabetes SA programs, services, products and health services.
Face-to-face attendance at events is an important part of this role.
Key Responsabilities
Proactively sell, reactivate and retain memberships using provided leads and event-generated opportunities
Manage inbound enquiries by phone, email and face-to-face while delivering a high standard of member service
Represent Diabetes SA at events, register attendees and convert event contacts into members
Identify individual needs and recommend appropriate membership options, programs and services
Cross-sell and upsell education programs, services and retail products
Process memberships and payments, including EFTPOS and cash transactions
Maintain accurate and up-to-date membership and CRM records
Support fundraising conversations and donations
Refer members to appropriate Diabetes SA health services and NDSS support
Track and report on sales activity, conversions and outcomes

Strong conversion of provided leads and event contacts
Accurate and timely CRM and membership records

About You
You are passionate about helping people and thrive in a customer-focused environment. You enjoy building relationships, are confident making proactive outbound calls, and can balance delivering exceptional service with achieving performance targets.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Demonstrated success in membership, subscription or service-based sales
Strong relationship-based selling skills, with the ability to understand customer needs, respond to objections and confidently convert opportunities into memberships
A target-driven mindset with experience working towards KPIs and conversion metrics
The ability to quickly build rapport and develop long-term relationships
Confidence engaging with people across inbound, outbound and face-to-face channels, including events
Strong CRM, data entry and record-keeping skills
Experience processing payments and completing customer or membership administration
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Desirable
It would also be advantageous to have:
Experience in sales, membership growth or customer acquisition
Experience in the health, community or not-for-profit sector
Retail or stock management experience
An understanding of diabetes, or a willingness to learn
