About the role:
Are you passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and making a positive impact in your community? We are seeking a dedicated Customer Relations Officer to be the welcoming face of our Council, providing high-quality information and support for enquiries from the public.

This role plays a vital part in ensuring our customers leave with a positive impression of the organisation, while also supporting technical staff by handling routine enquiries efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality customer service at the counter and over the phone.

Triage enquiries to determine if technical officer support is needed.

Maintain and distribute up-to-date Council information and documentation.

Register and record applications for Building department.

Coordinate brochures, handouts, and promotional materials.

Provide general administrative support

Ensure compliance with Procedures, Policy and Legislation

Contribute to continuous improvement of systems and practices.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:

Demonstrated experience in providing face to face and phone-based customer service.

Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.

Excellent attention to detail and sound numeracy skills.

Effective written and verbal communication abilities.

Strong organisational and time management skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Discretion in handling sensitive and confidential matters.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams) and experience with computerised systems.
