Reporting to the Application and Data Lead, you will guide a dedicated team responsible for maintaining, enhancing and optimising critical business applications, and SharePoint solutions. You will play a key role in ensuring systems are reliable, secure and fit for purpose, while also identifying opportunities to streamline workflows, improve reporting, strengthen integrations and enhance the user experience.

You will work closely with internal stakeholders, external partners and vendors to deliver practical, customer-centric technology solutions that support operational efficiency and align with organisational objectives. The role also supports a 24/7 on-call model for critical incidents, ensuring Council's essential systems continue to operate effectively when they are needed most.

This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.

What you will be doing:

  • Lead, mentor and develop the applications and SharePoint team, encouraging collaboration, innovation and continuous learning.
  • Oversee planning, testing and implementation of application and SharePoint update cycles, ensuring reliability, security and minimal disruption.
  • Design and deliver customer-focused solutions that improve workflows, reporting, user experience and organisational efficiency.
  • Manage and enhance integrations between core and secondary systems to support seamless and secure information flow.
  • Work with stakeholders and vendors to understand business needs, resolve complex issues and deliver effective system improvements.
  • Develop documentation, training resources and best practice guidance to support confident and consistent use of Council platforms.
  • Coordinate and contribute to a robust 24/7 on-call support model, including escalation support for critical incidents.
  • Support capability building and cross-training within the team to strengthen resilience and readiness for future needs.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Degree in Information Technology or related field OR solid contemporary equivalent work experience combined with ongoing professional development including licences and Certification with a business systems and configuration focus
  • A collaborative leadership style, paired with clear, practical and professional communication

Offer Details

The commencing salary for this position is up to $110.9K. Central Coast Council also provides progression opportunities for employees to progress up to the maximum salary of $128.5K on completion of assessment of skills and performance plus 12% superannuation

  • Temporary Full Time contract role available
  • This role will be able to access a 9 day fortnight
  • We are able to offer hybrid and flexible working conditions for this role - 2 days from home and 3 days onsite
  • This role is located at the Wyong Administration Building
