Looking for a role where no two days are the same? As a Casual Attraction Guide at a leading national cultural venue, you'll be at the heart of creating memorable experiences for every visitor.
What you'll do:
Deliver friendly, professional customer service.
Support and guide visitors through exhibitions and activities.
Work as part of a collaborative, supportive team.
Assist with tours, programs, and general day-to-day operations.
Essential Criteria
- Demonstrated experience delivering guided tours or educational presentations within a museum, gallery, cultural institution, or similar visitor attraction.
- Excellent verbal communication and public speaking skills, with the ability to confidently engage individuals and groups of varying ages and backgrounds.
- Proven ability to deliver exceptional customer service and create a positive visitor experience.
- Ability to communicate information clearly, answer visitor questions accurately, and adapt presentations to suit different audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team while also working independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced visitor environment.
- Flexibility to work weekdays, weekends, public holidays and peak visitor periods as required.
- Current Working with Vulnerable People (or ability to obtain) and National Police Check (or ability to obtain).
Desirable Criteria
- Experience working with school groups or delivering educational programs.
- Experience working within a national cultural institution, museum, gallery, heritage site, or visitor attraction.
- Knowledge of Australian history, culture, First Nations history, or museum collections.
- Experience working with booking systems or visitor management systems.
- Experience assisting with exhibitions, public programs, or special events.
- Current First Aid Certificate.
- Additional language skills.
Availability & Shifts
- Casual position with flexible rostering.
- Minimum shift length: approximately 3 hours.
- Peak periods: up to 4 shifts per week.
- Non-peak periods: 1-3 shifts per week.
