Position objectives
The Customer Service & Library Officer has a strong focus on delivering high quality and consistent customer service to the local community, library members and members of the public.
Key requirements of the position (not limited to these) include:
Providing outstanding customer service to residents and visitors, including answering enquiries, processing payments, and assisting with council services
Assisting with day-to-day operations in the library
Performing a range of administrative duties such as data entry, filing, and managing records
What we're looking for
Previous experience in any or all of the following areas, customer service, administration or finance, preferably in a local government or public sector environment
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to provide excellent customer service
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Sharepoint) and other IT systems
Attention to detail and the ability to work accurately under pressure
Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to work as part of a team

About Kangaroo Island Council
Kangaroo Island is located 13.5 kilometres from the mainland at its closest point. It encompasses an area of 4,400 square kilometres and has a resident population of approximately 4,500. The Council is responsible for the management of 1,100 kilometres of unsealed roads and 250 kilometres of sealed roads. The Island enjoys approx. 200,000 visitors each year, which is steadily increasing.
