A little about the role ...
As an Electrical Engineer at Creature Technology, you'll design and integrate the electrical and control systems that bring our animatronic creatures to life. You'll work from concept through to fabrication, testing, and installation, applying deep technical skill and creative problem-solving to deliver reliable, safe, and beautifully engineered systems. This role is hands-on and collaborative, working closely with mechanical, controls, and fabrication teams to ensure seamless integration across every build.

Have a degree in Electrical Engineering, or related field
Bring at least 5 years' experience designing control and power distribution systems
Can design and document electrical systems using EPLAN and SolidWorks 3D
Are skilled in selecting, evaluating, and integrating electrical components across complex systems
Understand PLCs, servo systems, and low-voltage machinery design
Apply safety and compliance standards (AS4024, ISO 13849, UL 508A) with confidence
Can prepare detailed schematics, layouts, and design documentation
Enjoy collaborating with other disciplines to solve design challenges
Are proactive in supporting testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting
Communicate clearly and take pride in delivering high-quality, practical solutions
Nice to have: TÜV functional safety certification and/or experience with automation for robotics or motion systems.

Location and Hours
This is a full-time, on-site position in our Port Melbourne office.
CTC services a global client base, this role requires international travel as part of project delivery. Travel is typically required during specific project phases (e.g., installation and commissioning) and may involve extended periods away from home. A willingness and ability to travel is an inherent requirement of the role.
