This is an outstanding opportunity for a Senior Electrical Engineer to play a key role in the strategic management and optimisation of complex hospital infrastructure systems, ensuring safe, reliable, and sustainable electrical operations across a diverse portfolio of healthcare facilities.

As the Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be in a leading role in developing strategic asset management plans, implementing lifecycle asset strategies, and supporting the design, delivery, and commissioning of new infrastructure and building projects. You will be instrumental in shaping long-term solutions for sustainable buildings, energy efficiency, and emissions reduction, ensuring assets are optimised for performance, safety, and longevity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, review, and implement Asset Management Plans (AMPs) for critical electrical systems, ensuring compliance with relevant standards, legislation, and the Asset Management Accountability Framework (AMAF).
  • Provide technical expertise and leadership on complex electrical engineering issues, offering guidance to Facilities Management Operations and senior stakeholders.
  • Lead and manage high-risk, high-value engineering projects across hospital sites, coordinating consultants and contractors to achieve quality outcomes with minimal operational disruption.
  • Ensure statutory compliance and safety standards are consistently met across all electrical systems and infrastructure.
  • Support the organisation's environmental sustainability and energy management goals, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage budgets, oversee contractor performance, and ensure accurate data is maintained in the Asset Information Management System (AIMS).

Key Selection Criteria

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering with 10+ years of experience, including work on healthcare or building services projects.
  • Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status or working towards this accreditation.
  • Demonstrated expertise in LV and HV power systems, electrical design, and technical documentation.
  • Strong understanding of Australian Standards, Building Codes, and Essential Safety Measures.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement asset management strategies within complex building environments.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to provide clear technical advice across diverse teams.
  • Proficiency in Building Management Systems (BMS) and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management capabilities.
