About the Role

We are seeking a professional, reliable, and well-presented Day Cleaner to join our on-site facilities team at a highly prestigious independent school. This position plays an integral role in maintaining the school's immaculate presentation and hygiene standards throughout the day, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.

You will work as part of an established cleaning team but will take ownership of the daytime cleaning and maintenance duties for a key area of the school, supporting the school's daily operations and responding promptly to cleaning needs as they arise.

Working hours for this position are 7am-3pm.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of high-traffic areas including entrances, corridors, staff rooms, offices, classrooms, restrooms, and common areas throughout the school day.

Conduct touchpoint cleaning and sanitisation of frequently used surfaces (door handles, railings, switches, etc.).

Attend to any immediate cleaning needs such as spills, accidents, or weather-related cleaning requirements.

Replenish consumables (toilet tissue, paper towels, soap, sanitiser) as required.

Empty bins and ensure waste areas are kept tidy and hygienic.

Support the school's sustainability and recycling initiatives.

Maintain cleaning equipment and storage areas in a safe and organised manner.

Provide a friendly and professional presence on campus, maintaining discretion and respect in an active learning environment.

Report any maintenance issues, safety concerns, or supply shortages to the Site Supervisor.

Requirements

Previous cleaning experience in a school cleaning (essential).

Working With Children Check (Blue Card or equivalent).

National Police Clearance (current).

Knowledge of safe chemical handling and WHS procedures.
