About the Opportunity

$2,000 Sign-on Bonus made up of $1000 sign-on-bonus once you pass probation and $1000 once you hit 12 months at Metro.
Due to continued growth, we’re seeking a qualified Light Vehicle Mechanic to join our high-performing maintenance team. Based in our well-equipped workshop, you’ll play a key role in keeping our fleet operating at peak performance through high-quality servicing, diagnostics, and repairs.
At Metro, we are committed to fostering the growth and advancement of our team members. As part of this commitment, Metro will provide financial assistance in upgrading your qualification to a Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic.
About you
You're a skilled and reliable Light Vehicle Mechanic who takes pride in doing the job right the first time. You thrive in a busy workshop environment, work well both independently and as part of a team, and are always focused on safety and quality.
You’re not just good with tools – you're a problem solver who understands the importance of keeping buses moving. You take initiative, stay organised, and communicate clearly with others around you.
You’ll also bring:
- A trade qualification in Light Vehicle Mechanics.
- Proven experience servicing, maintaining, and repairing heavy vehicles or diesel equipment.
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
- A keen eye for detail and a commitment to doing high-quality work
- A strong focus on workplace safety and compliance.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn and contribute to a positive team culture.
- Current driver’s licence (HR licence desirable but not essential)
- Forklift Licence or willingness to obtain
