Salary: $77,000 – $80,000 per annum + Super

Employment Type: Full-time

Working Hours: Variable – Morning / Afternoon / Evening / Night Shifts

VPBX1 GROUP PTY LTD t/as WRENCHH KING is seeking a Full-time Multiple skilled and reliable mechanics to join our roadside assistance and mobile service team. You’ll be part of a professional group dedicated to helping customers get back on the road safely and efficiently. This role is ideal for self-motivated tradespeople who enjoy problem-solving, variety, and customer service.

This role will involve the following tasks:

Diagnose and repair a wide range of vehicle breakdown issues on-site.

Perform jump starts, battery replacements, and minor mechanical repairs.

Conduct basic vehicle inspections and safety checks.

Assist customers in emergency roadside situations.

Report and document all service jobs accurately.

Ensure tools, equipment, and vehicles are maintained and in good condition.

Provide advice and recommendations to customers regarding vehicle maintenance.

Adhere to company safety and quality standards at all times.

Keep equipment available for use by inspecting and testing vehicles; complete preventive maintenance such as, engine tune-ups, oil changes, tyre rotation and changes, wheel balancing, replacing filters.

Maintain vehicle functional condition by listening to operator complaints; conduct inspections; repair engine failures; repair mechanical and electrical systems malfunctions; replace parts and components; repair body damage.

Detect and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in engines and parts.

Comply with state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.

Dismantle and remove engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components, and check parts.

Tune engines using special electronic equipment and make fine adjustments for smoother running.

Maintain vehicle records by recording service and repairs.

Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.

Contain costs by using warranty; evaluate service and parts options.

May inspect vehicles and issue roadworthiness certificates or detail work required to achieve roadworthiness.

Keep supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.

Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.

May respond to vehicle breakdown service calls

Discuss problems with car drivers or vehicle operators to discover faults

Responsibilities

1. Deliver prompt and professional roadside assistance services.

2. Uphold a high level of customer service and communication.

3. Work independently across varying shifts and locations.

4. Maintain accurate service records and job sheets.

5. Manage time effectively to respond to calls efficiently.

6. Ensure all work complies with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.

7. Represent the company and affiliated club partners with professionalism.

8. Contribute to continuous improvement in service operations and safety practices.

Requirements

• Qualified Motor Mechanic (Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent).

• Current Driver’s Licence (manual preferred).

• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

• Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights and weekends.

• Experience in roadside or field-based service desirable

In order to qualify you MUST possess at least a Certificate III in an Automotive related field with at least 2 years of training, or a Certificate IV in an Automotive related field in-lieu of the training. In addition to the qualification requirements, you MUST possess at least 1-3 years of prior experience.
