Mini Car Rentals, a locally owned and family-operated business in Cairns, is seeking an experienced and motivated Front Office Supervisor to join our growing team.

About the Role
As our Front Office Supervisor, you'll support the Assistant Manager and General Manager by leading our front desk team and ensuring smooth daily operations at our busy city car rental office. You'll take a hands-on approach to customer service, manage bookings and enquiries, and help keep our processes efficient, customer-focused, and professional.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and support the front office team to ensure efficient daily operations.
Handle customer enquiries, reservations, vehicle collections, and returns.
Lead by example in delivering friendly, professional, solution-focused service.
Assist with staff scheduling, onboarding, and on-the-job training.
Oversee cash handling, payments, and daily reporting.
Manage customer calls and emails with accuracy and efficiency.
Contribute new ideas and improvements to enhance customer service and workflow.
Step in to manage the front office in the absence of the Assistant Manager or General Manager.
Maintain a professional presentation of the office and ensure operational standards are met.
Requirements
Minimum two years' experience in customer service.
Previous experience supervising small teams – must be able to demonstrate prior roles and responsibilities.
Full open car licence (essential).
Strong background in customer service or front office operations.
Proficient with reservation or booking systems (training provided).
Training provided for tour sales and product knowledge.
Excellent communication, organisation, and multitasking skills.
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Shows initiative and innovation in improving processes and service delivery.
Builds and maintains positive relationships with both customers and team members.
Knowledge of the Cairns area and local tourism experiences is an advantage.
Ideally a Cairns local, permanent resident, or transitioning PR seeking a long-term role within a supportive and stable workplace.
Australian work rights are required for this position.

Part-time or full-time position available (flexible for the right candidate).
Work on-site at our convenient city location: 134 Sheridan Street, Cairns.
Report directly to the Assistant Manager and General Manager.
