About the role

Assure Rehab Pty Ltd, a leading provider of rehabilitation services, is seeking an experienced Senior Medicolegal Occupational Therapist to join our team in Melbourne, VIC. This is a contract position, offering the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients and contribute to the growth and success of our organisation. Interstate travel is optional for medicolegal assessments.

What you'll be doing

Conduct thorough and comprehensive medicolegal assessments of clients, focusing on occupational function and the impact of injuries or conditions

Prepare detailed and well-structured medicolegal reports that clearly articulate the client's functional capacity, future rehabilitation needs and the impact of their condition

Collaborate with legal professionals, insurers and other stakeholders to provide expert testimony and support the resolution of compensation claims

Develop and implement tailored rehabilitation plans to assist clients in achieving their functional goals

Stay up-to-date with changes in medicolegal regulations and best practices, ensuring compliance and the delivery of high-quality services

Mentor and support more junior occupational therapists within the team

What we're looking for

A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, with at least 5 years of post-graduate experience

Extensive knowledge and experience in the assessment and management of medicolegal cases, particularly in the areas of injury, disability and functional capacity

Strong analytical and report-writing skills, with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with a range of stakeholders

A demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development and staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices

Proven ability to work independently, manage a complex caseload and provide mentorship to junior team members
