About the Role:
This role contributes to both teaching and research in the disciplines of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Marketing, with the balance of these activities being variable by agreement through the Performance and Career Planning (PCP) process. The role also contributes to the scholarship of teaching, service, and leadership within these disciplines. This role has a strong research focus within the Consumer Research Lab, exploring the intersection of human–AI interaction, biometric research methods, and sustainable consumption.

Some responsibilities may include:
Teaching:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching to undergraduate and, where appropriate, honours and postgraduate students.
  • Engage in continuous improvement and innovation in teaching based on student feedback.
  • Conduct tutorials, workshops, and other learning activities that foster student engagement.
  • Mark and assess student work, contribute to curriculum design, and develop high-quality teaching materials.
  • Coordinate units as appropriate and undertake related administrative tasks.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current theory and practice within the discipline.

Research:

  • Contribute to the School’s research output and develop a coherent program of research in consumer psychology and behaviour related to human-AI interaction, biometrics, and sustainability
  • Apply for competitive funding and disseminate findings through seminars, conferences, and publications.
  • Publish or exhibit in high-quality disciplinary outlets, often collaboratively.
  • Supervise honours, master’s, and doctoral research students where appropriate.
  • Undertake administrative duties related to research activities.

Essential Selection Criteria:

  1. Progress towards a doctoral qualification in relevant discipline
  2. Demonstrated research experience in Consumer behaviour & psychology related to AI-human interaction, biometrics & sustainability
  3. Demonstrated ability to teach effectively as well as a commitment to reflective improvement in teaching delivery.
  4. An understanding of pedagogical theory and contemporary educational practice relevant to the discipline.
  5. An emerging research track record/potential to conduct quality research and contribute productively to research teams.
  6. Demonstrated high-level communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to the development of a collegial and supportive working environment and the ability to interact with students and staff with cross-cultural sensitivity.
  7. Demonstrated commitment to applying relevant and applicable policies, procedures and legislation in the day-to-day performance of the functions of this position.

Role Requirements:
As this is a fixed-term contract, you will require current work rights in Australia that match the tenure of this role, only in limited circumstances will sponsorship be provided.
