ABOUT THE ROLE
As the Director of Finance, you will create value beyond the ledger. We are seeking an energetic, experienced and commercially focused Director of Finance to lead a strong finance team and support their ongoing growth. This critical leadership role requires you to actively embrace the commercial and operational aspects of the organisation, positioning finance as a strategic partner to their national operations.
The current finance function is stable, with robust systems and processes in place. This role is designed for a proactive leader who can sustain this foundation, drive efficiencies and take the initiative to contribute to broader business strategies.

  • Strategic Leadership & Support - Partner with the executive team to shape commercial decision-making and support the continued growth of the organisation.
  • Financial Management & Reporting - Generate a comprehensive monthly board report, along with weekly financial controls and monthly financial reporting.
  • Commercial & Supplier Management - Lead the procurement function, managing key supplier relationships and running tenders for new pricing and the purchasing of capital equipment.
  • Governance & Compliance - Act as the company's Compliance Officer. Manage a comprehensive monthly checklist with People & Culture and Payroll, including running random internal audits.
  • Operational Stewardship - Manage key IT relationships and commercial contracts while ensuring the Finance team provides critical analytical support to the Operations divisions.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead, coach, mentor and develop high-performing team members, ensuring succession planning and talent retention.

ABOUT YOU
Ideal Candidate

  • CA/CPA qualification, with a degree in Accounting, Finance or Finance.
  • Professional Membership with CA ANZ or CPA Australia (Essential).
  • Prior outstanding experience leading a finance function within a private company that operates with corporate-level governance and auditing.
  • High level of technical expertise in Financial Accounting and analytical skills. Capable of translating financial insights into actionable business outcomes.
  • Leadership ability with solid organisational skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and different stakeholders.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, with a proven ability to interact and engage with stakeholders across businesses.
