Western Irrigation is an established water resource contracting company with over 50 years in business. The company has an excellent reputation in the industry, which it is keen to maintain by employing additional skilled and reliable staff.

We are expanding and seeking experienced Irrigation Technicians to join our team. Based at our Bibra Lake location you will be working across the wider metropolitan area on a variety of commercial and government sites. You will perform testing, installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of irrigation systems.

The ideal applicant will have 2–3 years' experience working on irrigation systems in Australia, preferably in Western Australia. This role also offers opportunities for on-the-job training and formal certification courses to further develop your skills.

Tasks & Responsibilities

• Test irrigation systems and carry out necessary repairs.

• Excavate using hand tools and mechanically-assisted plant (e.g. mini excavator).

• Install and troubleshoot low-voltage irrigation cabling networks.

• Assess, program, and operate various types of irrigation control systems.

• Install and adjust valves, sprinklers, filters, and drip system components.

• Lay RRJ and SWJ PVC and HDPE piping systems.

• Work collaboratively with Project Managers and Senior Irrigation Technicians.

• Install, commission, maintain, and repair irrigation and water distribution systems.

• Promote and actively develop the transfer knowledge with less-experienced staff.

• Follow Western Irrigation HSE policies and procedures.

Requirements: Qualifications & Experience

• Current manual driver's licence (Class C minimum).

• Minimum 2–3 years' experience in the irrigation industry.

• Strong mechanical aptitude.

• Experience with hand tools and small plant.

• Effective oral and written communication skills.

• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

• Ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic work environment.

• Pass prestart and ongoing medical, alcohol, and drug testing

Desirable:

• White Card

• First Aid Certificate

• Forklift Licence

• Truck Licence
