About the Role

As the Principal Water Services Engineer, you’ll provide senior technical leadership in water and sewerage engineering, ensuring safe, compliant, and cost-effective service delivery aligned with Council’s strategic objectives. You’ll lead network planning, oversee infrastructure projects, and mentor operational teams to deliver excellence in water services.

Key Responsibilities

Lead planning, design, construction, and maintenance of water and sewerage reticulation networks.

Develop hydraulic models and network planning reports.

Provide expert advice on development applications and technical submissions.

Manage contracts, procurement, and project delivery.

Monitor budgets and support cost-effective operations.

Ensure compliance with water quality standards and legislation.

Mentor and support the Reticulation Team and collaborate across departments.

What You’ll Bring

Essential:

Tertiary qualifications in civil or water engineering.

Proven experience in water supply and wastewater systems within local government or similar.

Strong technical writing, analytical, and hydraulic modelling skills.

Leadership and mentoring capabilities.

Current C Class manual driver’s licence and Construction White Card.

Desirable:

Significant post-graduate experience in a similar role.

Experience in local government.

Advanced leadership and motivation skills.
