Our client has been established on the Gold Coast for many years. Starting from family roots, they have grown and diversified to become a major player within the construction industry.

Due to continued growth, an opportunity has been created for an Assistant Accountant to join one of their divisions. Reporting to the Management Accountant, you will mainly be responsible for accounting for capital expenditure and fixed assets. Your day to day will include -

• Acquisitions and disposals of assets
• Maintaining the fixed asset register and tracking assets
• Month end and year end processes
• Depreciations and write offs
• Assisting with financing of new assets
• Reconciliation of WIP accounts including cost tracking
• Assist with monthly P&L analysis for the division

With a very large asset register (value and numbers) which continues to grow, this role will develop with time. The successful candidate will be a switched on Assistant Accountant with exposure to fixed assets, CAPEX, WIP and dealing with conflicting priorities (Ute rego or fix that digger that is needed for tomorrow?) You will enjoy dealing with a wide range of people within the business and have a commercial mindset.
