Position details
The position is responsible for:
The Information Management Officer is pivotal in driving the uplift of information management across the commission, with a focus on optimising systems such as SharePoint to meet business needs and compliance standards. The role leads enhancement programs, manages existing information flows, and implements new automation processes aligned with best practice.
Working closely with senior IT leadership, the position supports continuous improvement and ensures the commission's information platforms continue to evolve to meet growing and changing requirements. A key focus of the role is engaging with business units to understand emerging needs, strengthen relationships and provide practical advice and training on information and data management responsibilities and processes.
The position also oversees compliance monitoring and reporting, supporting improved business processes that strengthen the commission's approach to information management. By guiding teams and embedding good practice, the Information Management Officer helps build a culture of smart, sustainable and secure information handling across the organisation.

This is an ongoing position. The work location for this position is 570 Bourke Street, Melbourne with hybrid work arrangements available.

The Essential Services Commission is Victoria's independent economic regulator of essential services supplied by a range of industries. The commission's functions include:
- making regulatory decisions with respect to prescribed industries (including price determinations, licensing, customer protection and access disputes).
 - undertaking reviews and providing advice to Ministers on a range of economic and regulatory matters.
 - administering the Victorian Energy Upgrades program.
