What is the role?

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support capital equipment sales through the selection, layout, and design of high-quality mining equipment. You'll work with RME's Engineered to Order products, including RUSSELL Mill Relining Machines, Mill Liner Handlers, Feed Chute Transporters, and MILLMAST Mill Liner Handlers. You'll use advanced design tools such as SKYNET (RME's in-house software) and Driveworks, collaborating closely with Key Account Managers, Business Development Managers, and Contracts teams.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Collate and assess unique project and customer data, checking feasibility and fitment for existing products

Complete engineering design tasks for Engineered to Order equipment, tailored to Customer requirements

Develop and select equipment layouts and specifications, for handing over to the detailed design team

Estimate equipment costs

Assess compatibility of liners with the RME equipment

Creation of Customer facing engineering drawings such as vendor data drawings

Collaborate within the Applications Engineering team and across RME departments

Maintain high standards of quality and efficiency in all design work

Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and RME Lean philosophy

Undertake domestic and international travel for engineering site visits, as required

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering

2 years' experience in a design engineering environment

Sound knowledge of hydraulic principles and design

Understanding of mill relining practices

Familiarity with RME's Engineered to Order products

Demonstrated commitment to quality engineering

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Commitment to ongoing training and professional development

Ability to work in a dynamic, team-based environment

Ability to work independently

Willingness to undertake international travel, including to locations with travel risk management requirements

Current QLD 'C' Class Open Driver's Licence
