164 Alexandra Avenue, South Yarra, VIC | Part-time
Are you a passionate rowing coach who believes that great rowing starts with great people? Powerhouse Rowing Club is searching for an inspiring Head Coach to lead our community-focused club and help shape its future.
At Power House, we welcome rowers of all ages, abilities, and ambitions, from social and novice rowers to competitive and elite athletes. We are an egalitarian club where respect, collaboration, and community are at the heart of everything we do. Our culture values inclusion, technical excellence, and the joy of rowing, both on and off the water.
What You'll Do:
Design and implement comprehensive training programs for all levels, from beginners to masters, combining on-water and off-water sessions, fitness, and technical skill development.
Lead, mentor, and support a team of volunteer and paid coaches to deliver engaging, structured, and challenging pathways for our members.
Foster an inclusive, supportive, and high-performance culture that balances competitive excellence with fun and camaraderie.
Coordinate competition opportunities, selection processes, and events that inspire our members and grow the club.
Who You Are:
A skilled, appropriately qualified and experienced rowing coach with a track record of guiding crews to technical and competitive success.
Hold a minimum of Rowing Australia Level 2 coaching qualification or international equivalent.
Possess 3-5 years of rowing coaching experience.
Hold a current Working with Children Check.
An exceptional communicator who can build relationships across diverse groups- from members to coaches and committee members.
Passionate about inclusion, teamwork, and developing people as much as rowing performance.
Flexible, resilient, and organised, with the ability to plan and manage multiple programs and initiatives.
Why Powerhouse Rowing Club?:
Join a club where community and excellence go hand-in-hand.
Be part of a culture that is supportive, inclusive, and welcoming to everyone, regardless of age or ability.
Lead a vibrant team and have the opportunity to shape the club's future direction, including contributing to our strategic plan.
Help members extract maximum enjoyment and fulfillment from their rowing experience.
This is a part-time role of up to 25 hours a week, that in addition to regular early mornings, will include some evenings and weekends. The successful candidate will report to the Club President and Captain.
If you are ready to inspire, lead, and make a lasting impact at a club where people matter as much as performance, we want to hear from you.
Please send applications together with resume to Emily Harridge, PHRC Secretary at [email protected]
Applications close 20th December 2025
