About the Role
As Director of Coaching, you will lead the implementation of coaching philosophies and performance standards, foster a positive and disciplined team culture, and drive the integration of elite programs from junior athletes through to senior competition. You will be the driving force in developing talent pathways, managing coaching accreditation, and mentoring coaches and players. Your leadership will directly influence the growth and success of our programs, from domestic competition to regional, state and national level squads.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain strategies for coach and player development at all levels.
Oversee talent identification, education, and welfare for athletes and coaches.
Create coach education programs that align with Basketball Victoria standards and ensure best practices.
Mentor, support, and manage elite and domestic coaching staff.
Foster positive relationships with clubs, regional and state basketball bodies, parents, and the broader community.
Ensure compliance with child-safe sport policies and mandatory certifications.
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum Basketball Australia Level 2 Association Coach accreditation (Level 3 Performance Coach accreditation preferred).
Proven coaching experience at the elite or representative level.
Current Working with Children Check, National and State Police Clearances, and First Aid certification.
Strong understanding of talent development frameworks and ability to inspire athletes and coaches.
