ABOUT THE ROLE

The First XVIII Coach AFL - Boys will play a pivotal role in leading and elevating Mentone Grammar’s flagship football program. As a cornerstone of our sporting offerings, this position is essential in maintaining our high standards of player development, inclusive student participation, and coaching excellence. Mentone Grammar takes great pride in its distinguished AFL/AFLW program, underpinned by a robust pathway initiative that supports both boys and girls in achieving their full potential.

We are seeking a passionate and experienced football coach to lead our First XVIII AFL Boys team. The ideal candidate will bring elite-level coaching expertise, a strong strategic understanding of the game, and the ability to cultivate a high-performance environment. This role requires a balanced focus on competitive success, student wellbeing, character development, and the promotion of sportsmanship.

ABOUT YOU

Previous experience coaching at an elite level (AFL/ AFLW, Secondary School or Community).

The ability to effectively plan and implement a structured coaching curriculum/program.

Demonstrated ability to communicate and relate to a diverse range of stakeholders including coaches, students, and parents.

Strong leadership and relationship skills with the ability to engage and motivate others.

Ability to design and deliver a structured, high-impact coaching curriculum.

A commitment to the values of Mentone Grammar.

Have a Victoria Employment Working with Children Check, Level 1 First Aid and Anaphylaxis Certification or be prepared to obtain these.

Level 2 Coaching Accreditation will be highly regarded.
