About the Program

The Prosperous Pathways program is funded by the Queensland Department of Trade, Employment and Training through the Skilling Queenslanders for Work grant. This program is designed to develop interpersonal and soft skills of women, particularly young mothers seeking to enter or re-enter the workforce. It is expected that the Prosperous Pathways Program will engage with First Nations people from the local community. Our commitment is to deliver the program in a culturally safe and appropriate manner to enhance participation and successful completion.

About the Role

The Facilitator role is a full-time, specified position to be filled by an person with experience working with First Nations People, and had a reference form a First Nations person who is accepted and recognised as such in the Aboriginal and or Torres Strait Islander Community. This role is central to the success of the Prosperous Pathways program by providing mentorship and cultural brokerage for participants. The Facilitator role offers wrap-around support, helping participants remain engaged through case management, tailored case planning, and referrals to external support services as well as supporting the Program Coordinator in delivery of training to participants.

Minimum 2 years of experience working with First Nations People is required for this position.

Australian citizenship is required for this role.

Key Responsibilities

· Participant Support

· Provide day-to-day assistance for participants, including:

o Facilitating transportation

o Supporting participants within the learning environment

· Engage professionally with clients, colleagues, and the public at all times

· Cultural Mentorship

· Provide cultural advice and feedback to the CEO and Program Coordinator to enhance program delivery and engagement

· Assist in developing and delivering life skills and soft skills training/workshops through a cultural lens

· Facilitate training sessions as required

· Minimum 1-2 years of training facilitation experience is required.

· Networking & Community Engagement

· Build partnerships with businesses, employers, agencies, and organisations for:

· Work experience placements

· Employment opportunities

· Promoting the program

· Actively network within the local community to promote program participation and recruit clients

· Case Management

· Manage client cases including:

· Case management experience in any sector is required for this position.

o Developing, reviewing, and closing case plans

o Setting achievable goals with participants

Other Responsibilities

· Assist with participant intake including assessment, interviewing, and paperwork completion

· Conduct literacy, numeracy, and learning assessments for participants

· Maintain accurate records and client files including case notes

· Complete online reporting within required deadlines using relevant data systems

· Attend meetings and engagement activities with stakeholders, networks, and community groups

· Work autonomously and collaboratively within a professional team

· Undertake other duties as delegated by the CEO

Qualifications

The following qualifications are desirable along with relevant industry experience in the human services and adult education fields

· Certificate IV or higher qualification in:

o Community Services, Employment, Social or Human Sciences or related field

o Training and Assessing / Adult Education
