About the Role…
The primary purpose of this position is for the Mentor to engage, support and provide guidance to Australian Apprentices and Employers, by phone or virtual means, to improve the retention rate of Australian Apprentices overall. In this role, the Mentor will be required to engage with employers and apprentices, formally or informally, who may be having difficulties with the apprenticeship relationship, and any other relevant stakeholders who require assistance.
This role is full time, fixed term until June 2026 with possibility of extension, based working from home in the Gold Coast region.

A bit about you...
- Qualifications or currently studying either social work, counselling or psychology
- Formal studies in the area of coaching or mentoring
- In the absence of existing suitable qualifications; prepared to undertake a Diploma of Counselling or similar within the first year of employment
- Experience in social sciences, behavioural sciences, youth work or a discipline relevant to community development and services
- Proven experience in leading, motivating and communicating with a broad range of groups and individuals
- Highly developed interpersonal skills - ability to build and sustain relationships with key stakeholders, gain their confidence and build a sense of mutual understanding of needs and objectives
- Ability to obtain a Blue Card and National Police Check with no outcomes
