Nexora College is an emerging Melbourne-based education institution in the final stages of establishing registration as an ELICOS provider. Our programs will support international and newly arrived students — from primary through to secondary school age — to develop English language skills, academic readiness, and the confidence to succeed in Australian education.

The name Nexora — drawn from Nexus (connection) and Aurora (a new dawn) — reflects our purpose: connecting learners to their future through transformative education.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced ELICOS Academic Coordinator to lead the academic and compliance foundations of our new language programs.
This is a strategic and hands-on role, ideal for a senior ELICOS professional who enjoys building quality frameworks, ensuring compliance, and mentoring future teaching teams.

Initially offered as a 3–6 month contract, the role includes the opportunity to transition into an ongoing Academic Manager or Head of Studies position as the College launches.

Key Focus Areas

Review and refine Nexora's 20-week ELICOS and High School Preparation courses

Identify, adapt, or develop age-appropriate learning and teaching materials (primary and secondary focus)

Design a comprehensive teacher professional development (PD) framework, including program structure, draft content, and training pathways

Contribute to ASQA and ELICOS Standards 2018 compliance documentation

Support development of academic policies, timetabling, and student support systems

Provide leadership and mentorship in academic quality assurance and English language pedagogy

About You

You are an established ELICOS academic or coordinator who thrives in program development and quality leadership. You bring:

A degree in education or related field from an English-speaking country

A recognised TESOL qualification (essential)

2–3+ years' ELICOS or EAL experience, preferably in program coordination or academic management

Strong working knowledge of the ELICOS Standards 2018 and compliance processes

Demonstrated experience implementing ELICOS Standards in previous roles

Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

A collaborative mindset and readiness to build something meaningful from the ground up

VIT registration or equivalent accreditation (highly regarded)
