About the role

Ishizuka, a renowned high-end Japanese restaurant in the heart of Melbourne, is seeking an exceptional Assistant Restaurant Manager to join their talented team. In this full-time role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the smooth running of the restaurant's daily operations and contributing to the delivery of an unparalleled dining experience for our discerning guests.

What you'll be doing

• Assist the Restaurant Manager in overseeing all front-of-house operations, including reservations, seating, and service
• Coordinate and lead the wait staff team, providing training, mentoring, and performance management
• Ensure exceptional customer service and handle any guest inquiries or concerns with professionalism and tact
• Collaborate with the culinary team to maintain high standards of food and beverage presentation and quality
• Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic initiatives to enhance the restaurant's operations and guest experience
• Assist with inventory management, cost control, and other administrative duties as required

What we're looking for

• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a similar assistant restaurant manager or senior front-of-house role within a high-end, fine dining establishment
• Demonstrable expertise in leading and motivating a team of hospitality professionals
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with guests and build strong relationships
• Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of service and presentation
• Proficient in inventory management, cost control, and other operational aspects of running a successful restaurant
