Trade Assistant – Confined Space (Marine Maintenance Project)

Our client are looking for Trade Assistants with current Confined Space Tickets to join their team for a 4-week marine maintenance project based in Murarrie.

This position involves assisting trades on a large barge, performing general maintenance and preparation work in confined spaces.

Start Date: 18 November
Pay Rate: $42.00 per hour + penalties
Location: Murarrie
Duration: 4-week project
Hours: 6:00am – 4:00pm, Monday to Saturday

Key Responsibilities

• Working in confined spaces on a marine vessel
• Using hand and power tools (drills, grinders, etc.)
• Assisting with nut and bolt work
• Preparing steel and metal surfaces for welding
• Cutting, grinding, and rust removal
• General trade assistant and labouring duties, including tank cleaning

Requirements

• Confined Space Ticket (issued within the last 2 years)
• Current driver’s licence and reliable transport
• Experience using hand and power tools
• Experience working with steel or metal is highly regarded
