The Role: Skilled Trade Assistant 🛠️

We're looking for a highly motivated, skilled, and reliable Trade Assistant to support our qualified tradespeople (including carpenters, painters, and ) across various maintenance and small project works. This role is dynamic, requiring someone who can work autonomously and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and a strong work ethic.

Key Responsibilities:

Assisting Qualified Trades: Providing direct assistance to tradespeople with their tasks, including fetching tools, preparing materials, and ensuring the workspace is ready.

Site Preparation & Clean-up: Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe work environment, including site set-up and meticulous clean-up upon job completion.

Manual Handling: Moving materials, equipment, and performing general labouring duties as required.

Basic Maintenance Tasks: Performing basic, unsupervised maintenance and repair tasks within your skill set (e.g., patching, painting touch-ups, minor assembly).

Tool & Equipment Maintenance: Ensuring tools and equipment are well-maintained, stored correctly, and in good working order.

Safety Compliance: Adhering strictly to all workplace health and safety (WHS) policies and procedures.

What You'll Bring:

Essential Requirements:

Proven Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Trade Assistant or in a similar skilled labour role, ideally within building maintenance or construction.

Driver's License: A current, valid Australian C-Class driver's license and reliable transportation.

White Card: Current Construction Induction Card (White Card).

Tools: Basic hand tools relevant to the role.

Work Ethic: Reliability, punctuality, and a strong, proactive work ethic.

Skills: Demonstrated competency in basic practical skills (e.g., measuring, cutting, drilling, minor carpentry or plumbing tasks).

Communication: Excellent communication skills and the ability to take clear direction.

Work Authorisation: Current Australian work authorisation is required for this position.

Highly Desirable:

First Aid certification.

Experience operating small plant/machinery (e.g., elevated work platforms, bobcats – with relevant ticket).
