Cleaning facilities lead

At the NSW Department of Education, we educate and inspire lifelong learners - from early childhood, through schooling to vocational education and training.

Ongoing Full Time Role

Located across the Hunter and Central Coast regions with flexible working arrangements available

Clerk grade 9/10 salary ranging from $129,464 to $142,665 + super and annual leave loading

We are looking for a new team member to manage the operational delivery of the Cleaning Services whole-of-government contract. Join a newly established team and take the lead in shaping this role from the ground up. This is your chance to set the benchmark for operational service excellence across the Hunter and Central Coast Regions—make your mark and drive meaningful impact from day one.

About the Role

You will manage and oversee the operational delivery of cleaning services operations across a dedicated portfolio of Hunter and Central Coast sites. Your day-to-day work will see you supporting the manager to delivery cleaning services across the region.

You will have an opportunity to provide tactical input for service delivery planning to ensure adherence to performance standards, service monitoring and stakeholder management to achieve high-quality, safe and efficient cleaning and facilities outcomes. As a lead, you will inspire your team through role modelling great leadership and providing support to create and drive a culture of excellence.

About you

You're a proactive, people-focused lead who takes pride in delivering results and driving service excellence. You bring:

Proven success leading multiple cleaning or facilities contracts, ensuring top performance and compliance with KPIs and legislation.

In-depth knowledge of cleaning operations, compliance to deliver consistent, high-quality outcomes.

Strong leadership skills with a focus on coaching, developing teams, and building a high-performance, customer-focused culture.

Ability to build and maintain stakeholder relationships

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the confidence to provide clear advice and insights on performance, risk, and improvement.

Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

Essential requirements of the role

Current and valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to site locations.

Current and valid Working with Children Check clearance for paid employment.

Demonstrated understanding of, and commitment to, the value of public education.
