About the Opportunity

We now have a full-time opportunity for a Maintenance Officer to join our friendly team at The Village Taigum.

Full time role

Monday to Friday with 8am start

Autonomous position allowing you the flexibility to manage your day

Opportunities to develop your skills

Reporting to the Village Manager you will be responsible for the upkeep of Village assets through preventative and responsive maintenance of Village property, plant and equipment. This role will ensure the Village is presented at its best, with a high priority and immediate response to health and safety concerns. You will manage outsourced work and contractors in line with work expectations, costs, timeframes and safety requirements.

Trade based skills are highly desirable

A true handyman who takes pride in the ability to fix things

Able to work independently, with strong organisation skills and yet flexible enough to accommodate ad-hoc requests

Demonstrated customer-centric philosophy with a genuine desire to help

Experience in preventative and planned maintenance work

Exposure to supervision of maintenance contractors including electrical, plumbing, gas, plant & equipment, finishing trades, vendors and suppliers is preferred

Knowledge of the Work Health and Safety Act 2011, and associated WHS Regulations

Experience using computer applications and programs used in maintenance systems

Demonstrated high standards of accountability, integrity and care

Demonstrated interpersonal sensitivity, empathy and good communication skills to build rapport and stakeholder engagement

Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position, with a current C class drivers' licence

Provision of a satisfactory national police check

Key Responsibilities

Complete general preventative maintenance works, ensuring work is completed in a safe, efficient and effective way by following Village policies and procedures, legislation and relevant resident contracts

Act on urgent requests or critical/safety maintenance items

Assist with the coordination of contractors, suppliers and vendors, by assisting with the procuring and scheduling of quality and reliable labour, parts, materials and equipment ensuring minimal downtime and disruption to Village operations.

Update checklists as part of the maintenance management system

Record work orders in the relevant system for reporting purposes

Maintain a customer focus ensuring all work is of the highest quality to safeguard an exceptional resident experience and an immaculate aesthetic for the Village

Ensure your own safety and the health and safety of others by working safely and identifying risks, suggesting or actioning (where appropriate) remedies and actively seeking continuous improvement of the Village's health and safety

Assist with maintaining Village assets to ensure safe, reliable and efficient function
