Wellness Hub Nurse Supervisor & Clinical Trial Assistant – Dual Role
Melbourne Integrative Oncology Group
Posted 5 days ago
Melbourne Integrative Oncology Group (MIOG) is a private multidiscipline clinic. At MIOG, we’re proud to support our oncology and wellness community through an integrative approach to care. Our Wellness Hub offers a range of supportive and restorative services designed to help patients during and after oncology treatment.
In 2026 and 2027, MIOG will be hosting two clinical trials in the use of Mild Hyperbaric Therapy as part of a PhD project. This will involve the application of mild hyperbaric therapies alongside conventional treatments for patients with High Grade Glioma.
We’re now looking for a compassionate and experienced nurse who’s ready for a change of pace — someone who still loves patient care and clinical research but is seeking a more balanced, holistic and nurturing environment outside the hospital or GP setting.
This position has a dual role:
As Wellness Hub Nurse Supervisor, you’ll combine your clinical background with a wellness-focused role — welcoming and supporting patients as they experience our range of restorative therapies while providing administrative support. Although the Wellness Hub is supported by the wider MIOG Clinic for bookings and payments, the Wellness Hub Nurse Supervisor will enjoy the opportunity to oversee the Hub as a self-sufficient, hands-on clinic.
You’ll oversee and guide clients through our services, including:
Oxygen Therapy (mHBOT) – Reviewing pre-consultation forms, providing 15 min phone or in person consultations checking for contraindications, establishing clients safely in sessions, offering reassurance and guidance, and recording session notes.
Infrared Sauna – Preparing the sauna, welcoming guests, explaining the session process, and ensuring a clean, comfortable experience between appointments.
Compression Therapy – Assisting guests into equipment, explaining benefits, monitoring sessions, and maintaining high standards of comfort and safety.
This is an in-clinic role that includes some light cleaning and preparation between appointments to maintain a calm and professional space. An ability to manage time between patients is important.
You’ll also assist our Reception team at times with:
Collating and requesting medical records where appropriate for MIOG patients.
Wellness Hub Appointment confirmations and communication.
General administrative support if required during downtime.
Confident computer skills are essential (Mac experience preferred).
As the Clinical Trials Assistant, the role involves supporting the on-site Primary Investigator and Project Leaders of the trial, with the following key accountabilities:
Coordination of patient care including drawing blood for testing, using specialist analysis equipment and clinical examination skills.
Liaise and act as point of contact for trial stakeholders including the project leaders, participants, health clinics, and staff, by effectively answering queries, providing advice, interpreting information, or resolving problems.
Establishment and maintenance of clinical trial administrative systems, documents, records and files including participant correspondence and study-related presentation materials and updating and collating materials. Maintain relevant clinical trial databases, enter and transfer data into appropriate fields and formats, and support access to, and analysis and reporting of trial information.
Ensure clinical trial compliance and protocols are adhered to at all times.
Develop agile solutions in response to changes in environment or circumstance.
About you: Selection Criteria
Registered with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
Minimum 2 years clinical experience (hospital, primary care) with demonstrated experience in clinical trials coordination and administration or equivalent.
Confident and calm empathy skills with patients who may be feeling anxious or unwell
Up-to-date Working with Children Check, Good Clinical Practice certification (ICH-GCP), or ability to obtain prior to commencement, and demonstrated knowledge and understanding of medical terminology.
Demonstrated well-developed written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with team members, and exercise discretion, confidentiality and diplomacy.
Ability to work independently and exercise initiative with regards to decision making and problem solving.
Demonstrated organisational and time management skills, and the ability to prioritise competing tasks.
Demonstrated commitment to cultural diversity and a working knowledge of equity and WHS principles in the workplace.
Ideally live locally to the Clinic.
Hours & Employment:
Permanent Part-Time: 0.6 FTE - approx. 3 days per week, clinic hours are 9am – 5pm Monday-Friday, with increased hours up to full time during clinical trial periods.
Outside of clinical trial periods, opportunity may exist to increase hours covering other team members during leave or busy periods.
This position is classified as Registered Nurse Level 2 under the Nurses Award 2020: Rate of pay $42-47/hr plus superannuation depending on experience.
