Your part in our UnitingCare team
We are currently seeking to appoint a motivated individual to join the National Debt Helpline as an Intake Worker. This position will be based in Chermside, on a fixed-term contract ending 30 June 2026.
As an Intake Worker, you will be responsible for handling a high volume of inbound calls and actioning outbound calls. You will be the first point of client/agency contact and will refer clients through a client centred, trauma informed approach to numerous community-based services including Financial Counsellors to support the individual needs presented by the client.
Throughout the triage and assessment process the Intake Worker will actively listen to ask questions and provide accurate information to determine how best to serve the client including the client’s capacity to self-help.
What makes a difference for us?
Experience in using a client management system
Ability to work within a fast-paced call centre environment
Ability to quickly assess and prioritise client needs and refer to appropriate services
Have a polite and helpful disposition
Previous customer service experience is highly preferred
Proficient in the use of computers and systems
Ability to complete prompt, accurate data base entries and case notes
High attention to detail
Willingness to learn and take on coaching and feedback
Certificate IV in Community Services or related field and/or Certificate IV in Telephone Counselling Services is highly desirable
