About the role:
This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Criminal Lawyer to join a leading criminal law firm in Brisbane with the ability to work from our Gold Coast office as well.

As a Senior Criminal Lawyer, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive legal services to a diverse range of clients, focused solely in criminal and traffic law matters. This full-time role offers the chance to work alongside a talented team of legal professionals and contribute to the firm's continued growth and success.

What you'll be doing:

Represent clients in a wide range of criminal proceedings, including pleas of guilty, bail applications and licence application hearings and more complex work

Conduct thorough legal research, analysis, and case preparation to build strong defence strategies

Negotiate with prosecutors and other parties to achieve the best possible outcomes for clients

Maintain detailed records and documentation to ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards

Provide clear and concise advice to clients on their legal rights and options

Receive mentorship and support from more senior members of the legal team

What we're looking for:

Admitted lawyers only - experience in crime in any jurisdiction of at least 12 months is is required

Ability to thoughtfully demonstrate interest in criminal law proceedings, including trial advocacy and sentencing

Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Strong written and verbal communication abilities, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts to clients

Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high professional standards

A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively as part of a team with the social skills and confidence to gain the trust of clients
